Comfort Taxi SHC2649E – Utterly Displeased

6 Dec 2013   Kaiying | Taxi Company: Comfort Taxi
To whom it may concern, I am very displeased by an incident that happened yesterday morning (06-Dec-2013) in a Comfort taxi SHC2649E, Mr Tan. Every morning as usual i will on call a cab. It shows 3-5 mins for the cab to arrive. However i was late for 5 mins. I board the cab and the cab uncle said in a angry manner that he waited for very long and had already click ‘no show’. I kept quiet and was still in a cab waiting for him to drive off. After about 20 secs, he was still eating and drinking water. So i told him, “”are you going off?”” He replied “”I’m eating, if you can wait you wait. If you cannot wait you get out and take other cab.” HE IS TELLING ME TO GET OUT AND WAIT FOR ANOTHER CAB IF I CANT WAIT! How can such attitude be acceptable? Please kindly look into this matter. Comfort Taxi SHD999C – Very Poor Service and Attitude

6 Dec 2013   Victoria Leong | Taxi Company: Comfort Taxi
I boarded a Mercedes Taxi SHD999C from Marina Cruise Centre on 6 Dec at about 10 am. I have read and heard much about poor service attitude of such taxi drivers, including stories of how some behave like gangsters, but this is the first time I encounter one. Barely 3 mins into the trip, the driver picked up a phone call, apparently from one of his colleagues. He spoke very loudly in Hokkien, talking about what are some fares that he would not pick up because it was “”not worth it””. This confirms reports that one problem to our poor taxi service is the behavior of some taxi drivers, many of them driving limousine taxis. When we reached the destination, I paid the required fare with surcharge. As my wife had to take care of my son, and the luggage were quite heavy, I politely asked for his assistance with taking the luggage from the boot. To my surprise (and rude shock), he said my wife could help. He further said that he is not a porter and is responsible for only driving. He also challenged me to complain about him. In the end, I have no choice but to carry the heavy luggage from the boot on my own. With such taxi drivers, our taxi standards will never go up.

Comfort Taxi SHC2303C – good start bad finish

I asked the driver to do a tour with 3 stops. The 2nd stop was to pick up my son from kindergarten and then to bring him to another appointment. I explicitly asked the driver to wait for 2 minutes so that I can get my son. He asked me to settle the first part of the drive first and promised to wait. Yet when I came out with my son the driver was gone. So now I had to call anew taxi and subsequently was late for the last appointment.

Premier Taxis SHC6769R – Taxi driver took a detour!

5 Dec 2013   mhliusg | Taxi Company: Premier Taxis
last night decided to take a taxi instead of mrt as my wife was not feeling well. from Jubilee Ang Mo Kio Ave 8 to Sembawang, shortest way is of course through Lentor Ave. but the driver decided to take a 90 degree turn and head to Upper Thomson Road. i thought never mind, maybe he wants to drive in Sembawang Road from there. but just about the taxi was going to cross the junction from Upper Thomson to Sembawang Road, the driver decided to make a right turn and enter into Mandai Road. oh my gosh, what is this? from Mandai he turned to SLE, then Woodland Ave 12, made a “good” circle back to Sembawang. i was not able to direct him because my attention was on my wife as she was extremely unwell. but the thing is, the driver never explain to me why he decided to take longer route, throughout the trip never talk to me. in the end a supposed 10min drive become 20min, and it defeats the purpose why we take taxi in the first place, to be back home faster, and rest early.

SMRT Taxis SHC68884R – very very bad

I don’t remember who is service provider of this taxi but driver was really a very rude, bad mouth person. This is how it was happened, me and my friend board this taxi from next to Mustafa (near city square mall) to Marina bay sands. When driver asked rent I offered him 100 dollar note because of insufficient change, then he replied “Don’t play with me a stupid game and give me change”. I was shocked. So I asked my friend to pay but he was also not having change. Finally we asked him can he accept card payment or we will look ATM nearby and get 50 dollar notes to pay taxi rent and then suddenly he started a very mouth at us. I never saw such rude, bad driver in my life. I have decided to complain to police.

SMRT Taxis SHB254D – Rude driver

4 Dec 2013   Norlizawati | Taxi Company: SMRT Taxis
I took the cab to Jurong West from cbd area. He was speeding all the way and beat a few red lights before entering the expressway. I knew this is gonna be an unpleasant journey. Once we reached jurong, i changed my mind to go to the market and it was along the way to st 42. The traffic was quite heavy. He replied furiously and made a few frustrated sigh throughout the journey to my location. Although i am having a bad day at work today, i controlled my anger towards him. I told him earlier that im gonna make the payment by card, before we reach the destination, he already took out the machine and throw it at the front passenger seat with a frustrated attitude. I am very angry with the way he showed his attitude towards his passenger.

SMRT Taxis SHB444Y – Rude Behavior

4 Dec 2013   Sripriya Indramohan | Taxi Company: SMRT Taxis
I was traveling on 4/12/13 at 15:12 from Sengkang to Ubi Avenue 4. The Indian driver was so shaky and when asked if i can pay by nets, he answered that i cant pay by nets though it works and he needs only cash, in a very rude manner. He also asked us (me and my husband) to get down in the middle of the road if we ask any more questions. He also drove too fast and tried to scare us with his driving. He was so impatient and jittery and even his hands shook while driving. As per my opinion, in spite of his rude behavior he is too dangerous to drive on road too. Please take proper action against such drivers and their behavior.

Comfort Taxi SHD2357S – TOTALLY UNPROFESSIONAL DRIVER

3 Dec 2013   Mrs Seah | Taxi Company: Comfort Taxi
Waited at the taxi stand at Goldenmile Complex. This particular taxi was picking me and my son. As i was carrying many bags and holding on to a kid, i told this driver to help carry the bags to the boot. Instead, he began shouting out and complaint that HE IS A DRIVER AND NOT LABOUR CARRYING THINGS FOR CUSTOMERS. As i had liver conditions which does not allow me to exert physically over, i could not lift too heavy bags onto the boot. But rather than being friendly and helpful, this driver is totally unprofessional and kept talking out loud and complaining even when we were in the car. Finally, when we reached, perhaps he was guilty of his earlier behavior or he realised he is in the service industry, automatically he went to the boot and remove the bags and put on the floor without me asking. Still, overall, this ride is shocking for a mother with a 6yrs old kid who needs some assistance. I find that a driver must be made informed by the company that they are not only supposed to DRIVE. They are responsible for the riding experience for the passengers right from picking the passengers to dropping off, includes the carrying of things. regards, upset mum

CityCab SHC7776M – Outrageously Dishonest Taxi Driver

2 Dec 2013   Feng | Taxi Company: CityCab
Details of Complaint: • Taxi Plate no.: SHC 7776M • Taxi Driver: TAN ENG YONG • Journey: Tampines Century Mall to Punggol Edgedale Plains • Date of incident: 2nd Dec 2013 • Time: At about 2.15 p.m. • Venue: Tampines Century Square Mall Re: Totally Dishonest Taxi Driver Hi, I met a very dishonest taxi driver today and I penned down my unfortunate encounter below in the hope that should someone be as unfortunate to meet the same dishonest driver, he/she will lodge a complaint as well and let the relevant party deal with this dishonest driver so as to prevent similar unfortunate incidents from happening to other passengers, especially foreigners. Please note that though I am 100% Singaporean Chinese, I do look Eurasian to most people here (you will understand my point later below). I was just outside Tampines Century Mall hailing for a cab at about 2.15 p.m. on 2nd Dec 2013 with my fiancee, who is Eurasian, and my fiancee’s father who is a Caucasian (he has blonde hair). The above taxi came to a halt in front of us with the signal showing Hougang (c.f. changing shift at Hougang). I therefore guess it is logical to assume that this taxi driver, Mr. Tan, knows his way around Hougang since he is changing shift at Hougang. Regardless of whether he knows the routes in the Hougang area, judge for yourself whether the route that he took does not suggest anything of an intention to lengthen the journey so as to earn extra bucks. Anyway, we entered the cab and my fiancée said to go to Punggol. Immediately after, my fiancée spoke in French to her father throughout the journey. The driver then started the journey by making his first big detour out of Tampines: instead of going on TPE at the Tampines Ikea and Courts area to get to Punggol, the driver made a big detour by first entering Tampines Ave 4, then to Ave 7 and then enter TPE at Loyang area (TPE at Loyang is further away from Punggol than TPE at the Tampines Ikea and Courts area). By then, the journey was already taking way longer than usual to exit Tampines and enter TPE but I gave the driver the benefit of the doubt then by not thinking that he made a detour intentionally. At this point of time, we just entered TPE at Loyang. Then, I thought the driver would drive down TPE all the way straight until he will take Exit 9 for Punggol Road. Instead of taking this route, the driver made his second big detour and this time round it was totally ridiculous because when going on TPE, he exited to enter into KPE! That was when I got furious, and asked in Chinese where is he driving us to. Realising he might have gotten the wrong victims as there was a local onboard, he then replied hesitantly “this route would take us to Punggol right?”. This is one route that he cannot defend himself because exiting TPE onto KPE to get into Punggol is ABSOLUTELY DOWNRIGHT ILLOGICAL. I used to attend school at Temasek Poly for 3 years and have taken taxi from Century Square or Tampines Mall area to Punggol after hanging out at the malls after school but never ever have any taxi driver exit TPE to enter KPE so as to get to Punggol. Clearly, there was an intention to cheat because no driver would do that, not to mention an experienced taxi driver like Mr. Tan. The final bill came up to $14.64 but I paid $11 eventually as I usually pay this amount for the same distance. However, I feel seriously unjust to be treated this way and I believe that the professional ethics of this driver has to be seriously looked into. Please contact me at [email protected] for any follow-up on this case.”
